Free Voice & Typing Tools

Small, private, browser-based tools for voice and typing. No signup, and nothing you record or type leaves your device.

Why we built these

Handy on their own. Sharper together.

Each tool answers one small question on its own, entirely in your browser. They also share one idea: your voice is faster than your hands, and it should not have to travel to a server to be useful. That is what wispa is built on.

The mic test checks your microphone with a live meter and instant playback. The voice recorder captures a take and hands you a WAV file. The typing speed test clocks your words per minute, then shows how much faster your voice already is. Three small answers to three everyday questions.

Good to know

Free tools, answered.

Are these tools really free?

Yes. Every tool here is free to use, with no account and no sign-up. wispa, the desktop app they lead to, is also free while it is in public beta.

Does my audio or text leave my device?

No. The mic test, voice recorder and typing speed test all run entirely in your browser. Nothing you record or type is uploaded, and it is gone the moment you close the page.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No. All three tools run in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. The mic test and voice recorder ask for microphone permission the first time; the typing speed test needs nothing at all.

What is wispa?

wispa is a push-to-talk voice keyboard for Mac. Hold a key, speak, and clean, finished text lands in nearly any app. These browser tools are a small taste of that idea.
