How does the free trial work?

You get the full app free for 5,000 dictated words, no account. When that limit is reached, you can optionally complete a short feedback survey once for +3,000 words (up to 8,000 total). After that, a one-time €39 license removes the cap.

Is it a subscription?

No. wispa is a one-time purchase. You pay €39 once and the license is yours forever, with no monthly or yearly fee.

What happens when free words run out?

Nothing you already dictated is lost. New dictation pauses until you buy the €39 lifetime license (or claim the optional +3,000 feedback words if you have not yet). Your settings and history stay on your Mac.

Does one license cover multiple Macs?

Yes. A single €39 license can be active on up to three Macs at once. You can deactivate a device in the app to free a slot. Sharing keys with other people is not allowed.

Do I need an account?

No wispa account is required to download, try, or use the app. Checkout is handled by Polar; you receive a license key by email and paste it into the app.

EU/EEA consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance sales, which can end early for digital content once delivery starts with your consent (Polar's checkout covers this). Beyond statutory rights there is no voluntary money-back guarantee. Try the free words first so you only buy when you are sure. Details: Terms of Service.

What counts toward free words?

Dictated words that wispa inserts as text count toward the free limit (whitespace-separated words in the final text). The free trial is meant for real push-to-talk use so you can decide before paying.

Are cloud models included in the €39?

Local models are included. Optional cloud speech-to-text and AI clean-up use API keys you provide (for example OpenAI, Groq or Anthropic). Those providers bill you separately under their own terms; wispa does not resell cloud minutes.

How do I activate after buying?

After checkout with Polar you get a license key by email. Open wispa, enter the key to activate (online once), then the license stays valid offline. You can move it between your Macs within the three-device limit.

Do free updates last forever?

Your license does not expire. While wispa is offered as a product, paid licensees get updates at no extra charge. There is no guarantee the product will be developed forever; if it is discontinued, your last installed version remains usable under the Terms.

Will the price change?

€39 is the current price for a lifetime license. If it ever changes, anyone who already owns a license keeps it: a perpetual license stays valid.
