Voice to text for your Mac.
Hold a key and talk. wispa turns it into clean, finished text in nearly any Mac app, right at your cursor. Built for Apple Silicon; transcription can stay on your Mac.
Why switch
Beyond built-in dictation.
Apple Dictation is fine for a quick line, but it transcribes literally: the ums stay in, and the raw text usually needs a tidy-up before you can send it.
wispa listens for what you meant. It drops the filler, fixes the order, and formats the result for where it is going, an email, a Slack message, a commit. Plain transcription needs no account and no key; an optional AI step with your own key does the styling.
Built for Apple Silicon
Fast on M-series, private by design.
wispa runs local Whisper models with Metal acceleration and Parakeet via Apple MLX, right on your Mac. Choose a local model and audio is processed and discarded on-device, offline if you want. Prefer cloud speed or AI cleanup? Bring your own key. Requires macOS 13 or newer on Apple Silicon (M1 and up).
Everywhere you type
One hotkey, nearly any app.
wispa lives in your menu bar and types wherever your cursor is: Mail, Slack, Notion, browsers, and coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor in the terminal. Hold ⌥Space, speak, release. And with command mode, a second hotkey turns speech into actions: open apps, run Shortcuts and scripts, add Reminders.
